Intro to Flight
Alphaflight LLC will be providing training and Discovery Flights for Culver Summer Schools and Camps Aviation Program. Co-owners Dan Marohn and Ken Norris wish to welcome new and returning students and parents.
We bring a wealth of military, airline and civilian training to the program. Standardization and consistency are vital to the goal of bringing up the next generation of safe, knowledgeable and skilled aviators. Whether you just want to try a Discovery Flight or take a few lessons to see what flying is all about; or you want to take it a little further and solo an airplane or get a Private Pilot License to make yourself a more well rounded person; or you decide to pursue aviation as a career, nothing takes the place of learning the right way from day one. We will accomplish this goal with the industry leading Sporty’s curriculum, a well-maintained and clean fleet of aircraft, FAA approved Advanced Aviation Training Devices (Simulators), hand-picked professional flight instructors, state-of-the-art electronic scheduling and friendly and professional customer service and support staff.
We’re excited to give Culver students and parents the best possible experience for the season and look forward to getting to know each of you this coming summer.

Summer Flight Camp
Bronze Package:
The Bronze Package is tailored to students who are not interested in flight activities, and would instead prefer to expand their knowledge of aviation in the classroom.
Included in the Bronze Package is the Sporty’s Private Pilot Course with lifetime digital access, as well as classroom instruction from a Certified Aviation Instructor.

Silver Package:
The Silver Package is an excellent option for the budget-minded parent, and for students who have somewhat of an interest in flying but are not certain enough to merit a large financial investment.
Students in the Silver Package will have the same classroom experience as those in the Bronze Package, but will be able to try their hand at the controls of a state-of-the-art, full motion simulator, as well as the controls of an actual airplane flying over the Culver Academies Campus on one of our renowned discovery flights.
Included in the Silver Package is the Sporty’s Private Pilot Course with lifetime digital access, classroom instruction from a Certified Aviation Instructor, as well as:
5 simulator lessons,
1 discovery flight, and
12 hours of one-on-one instruction with one of our premiere Certified Flight Instructors.

Gold Package:
The Gold Package sits between our Sliver and Platinum packages, and is a great option for students heavily involved in athletics and leadership that still want a robust aviation camp experience. Like the students in the Silver Package, students in the Gold Package will have the same classroom experience, but will spend much more time in the aircraft.
Included in the Gold Package is the Sporty’s Private Pilot Course with lifetime digital access, classroom instruction from a Certified Aviation Instructor, as well as:
3 simulator lessons,
5 flight lessons, and
16 hours of one-on-one instruction with one of our premiere Certified Flight Instructors.

Platinum Package:
The Platinum Package is for those truly passionate about aviation. To those eligible, emphasis will be placed on preparing for and completing the first solo. Those who have already completed their solo can expect flights to practice maneuvers, cross-country flights that continue to build experience toward the Private Pilot Certificate, and a flight to see the Chicago Skyline and Lake Michigan coastline.
Platinum Package students will have a slightly different classroom experience, with more time to focus on the advanced concepts assigned by their flight instructor with special attention from our ground instructors.
Included in the Platinum Package is the Sporty’s Private Pilot Course with lifetime digital access, classroom instruction from a Certified Aviation Instructor, as well as:
3 simulator lessons,
10 flight lessons, and
26 hours of one-on-one instruction with one of our premiere Certified Flight Instructors.

Summer Flight Camp Electives
Additional Flight Training
Students in the Silver Package and above can elect up to 10 additional flight hours.
Additional Simulator Training
Students in the Silver Package and above can elect up to 5 additional simulator hours.
Woodcraft Discovery Flight
This is an introduction for students, parents or staff desiring to enjoy the experience of flight. Assist at the controls with a flight instructor as you enjoy the complex world of aviation.
- All Discovery Flights include 20 minutes in the pilot seat
- 60 minutes total for WC students paired with two others
- No previous experience required
- Only for those not currently enrolled in Silver, Gold, or Platinum Packages.
