Even as a licensed Career Pilot, Jake is happiest as a pilot trainer and is steadfast in his goal to raise the training bar for future aviators.
As a teen, Jake felt unsure of his life’s passion, so he followed in his father, Dan’s, footsteps and became a pilot for a regional carrier, Republic Airlines. However, sitting in the cockpit wasn’t in his heart. He pivoted into airline operations, where he was among two First Officers hand-picked to revamp Republic’s incoming pilot training program. It was there he discovered incoming pilots needed more foundational work before flying professionally.
Finding joy in training pilots, Jake transitioned into AlphaFlight as its first flight instructor. Like his father, joining a flight school wasn’t what he envisioned for his career.. By 2022, Jake was leading AlphaFlight’s operations full-time, developing flight training programs that supplement and enhance industry standards.
In addition to leading AlphaFlight operations, Jake serves as Assistant Chief Instructor for the Private Pilot program, ensuring the foundational work exceeds industry expectations. He also mentors high school students interested in aviation careers.
